How Unknown Gunmen Invaded Venue Of Traditional Rulers’ Meeting In Imo, Killed Two

Two traditional rulers have been killed and three others in a critical condition following an attack at Nnenasaa the council headquarters of Njaba local government area of Imo state on Tuesday by yet to be identified gunmen.

About twenty traditional rulers from the area were said to be having a stakeholders meeting when gunmen struck the venue and opened fire at the royal fathers.

Those feared dead were the traditional rulers of ihebinowere community Eze Sampson Osunwa and that of Okwudor Eze Anayo Durueburuo.

The Police Public Relations Officer Imo State Command CSP Mike Abattam told Radio Nigeria that other monarchs who sustained injuries during the attack were receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital.

No arrest has been made so far in connection with the crime as the residents of the area have been thrown into panic since the unfortunate incident occurred.
