How DSS Nabbed Abia Govt Appointee Who Threatened To Do Barbecue With Opponents

The Department of State Services (DSS) in Abia State on Monday arrested one Mr. Tony Otuonye, the General Manager Abia State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ABSAA) and a staunch member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who threatened violence in a viral video.

The DSS arrested Mr. Otuonye in the early hours of Monday and took him into custody for possible prosecution after investigation.

While addressing members of the party in an unknown location, Otuonye while adorning a t-shirt with the image of PDP governorship candidate in Abia State, Okey Ahiwe had threatened to do everything possible to ensure victory for the party on March 18 governorship election.

Electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC had shifted the governorship and state assembly elections earlier scheduled to take place on March 11 to this weekend, March 18.

Otuonye who spoke largely in Ngwa dialect said nothing will truncate the governorship ambition it Okey Ahiwe, instead a human head will be sacrificed to make it achievable.

He also incited those who were listening to him to get ready and prepared, that nobody will come and carry out any fight on their behalf.

He told them, irrespective of whatever thing they do while pursuing the governorship ambition of their fellow Ngwa man, Ahiwe, they will be freed.

We have enquired from both humans and spirits and they said this journey will be successful, all we are looking for is anyone who will go beyond his boundaries, we will roast their intestines and use it for barbecue.

What I am telling you is, get ready, the money to fight this war will come out, the charms that will be used that day has been preserved under the bed“, he said.

The PDP has since dissociated itself from the violence threat, saying it does not believe in electoral violence.

The DSS has warned all Abians eschew violence within and after the elections, warning that those who breach the peace of the state will be dealt with according to the law.

Political parties fielding governorship and House of Assembly candidates in the Saturday’s elections had last week signed a Peace Accord, committing to a violent-free activities before, during and after the elections.
