Barring last-minute changes, the House of Representatives will amend the 2024 Appropriation Act, with a view to approving the sum of N6.2 trillion for unspecified capital projects.
A breakdown of the proposed expenditures showed that the sum of N3.2 trillion is for Capital projects while N3 trillion is for recurrent Expenditure.
The proposed bill sponsored by the Majority Leader, Hon. Julius Ihonbvere, seeks to amend the Appropriation Act, 2024 to authorise the issue from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation the total sum of N3.200 trillion only for Capital Expenditure and the sum of N3 trillion for recurrent expenditure for the year ending on the 31st day of December 2024.
As listed on the Order Paper, the bill was gazetted for Second Reading.
As the plenary session for the day commences, the lawmakers resolved to suspend the scheduled legislative business and dissolve to Executive session.
