A prominent member of the National Assembly from Abia won big in the Saturday’s prestigious Leadership Excellence (LEEX) Awards, the 5th edition organised by Igbere TV in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Hon. Obi Aguocha representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency of the state was honoured as Personality of the Year (security). He is the House of Representatives ad-hoc committee chairman on Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency.
According to the organisers of LEEX award, Obi Aguocha was honoured in recognition of his outstanding performance in national security management, tremendous contribution to nation building and selfless service to humanity.
LEEX Awards was proudly endorsed in 2020 by the African Union Economic Social and Cultural Council (AU-ECOSOCC) and in 2021 by the African Union African Film Institute (AU-AFI), the organisers said.
The Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja, venue of the event was full to brim as top political office holders, business executives and entertainment icons trooped out in their large numbers to receive their awards.
Hon. Obi Aguocha was at the event represented by Hon. Chief Emeka Nwosu, former Media Adviser to the Senate President and now the President of Old Bende Development Association (OBDA) Abuja who received the award on his behalf.
He expressed gratitude to Igbere TV, organisers of LEEX award for finding him worthy of the honour and assured that he would be the representative for all Nigerians and not just his Abia constituency.
He said the award would spur him to do more for more excellent service delivery to the people of Nigeria.
