Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and Umuahia South Federal Constituency of Abia State, Hon. Obi Aguocha has been selected as a member of the House of Representatives Ad-hoc committee to investigate the alleged manipulation of United Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) 2023 result by Ms. Mmesoma Ejikeme.
Ms. Ejikeme had claimed he scored 362 to emerge the highest scorer in the entrance exam, a claim faulted by the Joint Admission And Matriculation Board (JAMB) who said the 19-year-old scored 249.
Baffled by the claims and counterclaims, the House of Representatives Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas set up a committee to conduct an investigation into the issues.

Hon. Aguocha in a statement said the ad-hoc committee will do a thorough review of this and other administrative, as well as, operational activities of JAMB.
He said, “We assure every Nigerian that our inquest shall be transparent, independent, and with Cyber Forensic Expert Reports.
“It is critically important that Nigerians are not put in any further position, to lose confidence in our institutions, especially, through “man-made glitches.” I pray that JAMB is not found incompetent.
“Finally, whether you are for, and or, against JAMB/Young Ms. Mmesoma Ejikeme – Let’s us patiently wait for the credible, yet independent House of Representatives Investigation Reports.”
