Hon. Ben Kalu Grateful After Fed College Of Education Bende Bill Passed Second Reading

Member representing Bende Federal Constituency, Hon. Benjamin Kalu has expressed gratitude that the Bill for the establishment of Federal College of Education in Bende, on Thursday 25th of March 2021 passed second reading at the plenary in Abuja.

Hon. Kalu is the sponsor of the Bill.

The federal lawmaker told ABN TV that Bende Federal Constituency houses Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, which according to him is the single oldest and largest Local Government Area in the South-East geo-political zone.

He said when passed into law, the college will provide a veritable platform for youths in the local government and Abia to be trained as educationists especially at a time when there is dearth of quality teachers.

He said, “Bende deserves to have the presence of a tertiary institution to serve the education need of the teeming youthful population, especially now that the need for well-trained educationists has risen accompanied with the need to fill the gaps created by both the consequences of brain drain and the lack of qualified educationists to provide quality training at all levels of education.
