The residence of the Imo state commissioner for Information and strategy Mr. Declan Emelumba at his community, Ubulu-ihejiofor in Oru west local government area of the state has been set ablaze by gunmen.
The Commissioner who confirmed the attack to newsmen in Owerri said part of the building was razed by the assailants but noted that no life was lost.
According to him, the gunmen after attacking his home around midnight proceeded to the village residence of the Interim Management Committee chairman of Oru west local government area Mr. Willy Okoliogwo and also razed part of his building.
Mr. Emelumba explained that the gunmen later made away with an ambulance bus belonging to the local government council which was parked at the compound.
He said the police had however recovered the stolen ambulance during a failed attempt to attack police headquarters this morning.
