A couple, Mr. and Mrs. Kingsley Akpor, was on Sunday evening knocked down by hit-and-run drivers opposite PTI Conference Centre, along the East-West Road in Uvwie council area of Delta state.
ABN TV learnt that incident occurred around 8pm while they were crossing the expressway.
It was gathered the wife, Ajoke, was heavily pregnant and due for delivery of their first child this week.
While Ajoke is a makeup artist, the husband is a photographer who owns a shop in Agbarho, Ughelli North council area of the state.

It was learnt the couple tied the nuptial knot on December 19, 2020.
A source close to the deceased couple told The Nation that they were returning from a birthday celebration at PTI Conference Centre.
According to the source, they were knocked down by two separate vehicles.
“The man had crossed the road. So when he saw that the wife had been hit, he rushed back. That was how another incoming vehicle knocked him down.
“The woman was rushed to a government hospital where they tried to save the baby through a surgical operation but she died. The baby also died.
“She was the one that did the makeup for the celebrant while the husband took the photographs of the party,” the source said.
The Delta State Police Command could not confirm the incident.
