A priest of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Most Rev. Barr. Uche Kalu Ibe has said harvest thanksgiving offers Christians opportunity to recapture God’s blessings in their lives.

He also said it is a time to renew concentration and covenant with God, noting that it is a festival celebrated unto God and not unto man.

Rev. Ibe who was a Guest Speaker at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Solid Rock Parish Umuahia, Abia state at their Harvest and Thanksgiving service on Sunday said the renewal of relationship with God and honouring Him through man’s wealth and talent shows appreciation to what God has done.

We do harvest thanksgiving to retain and recapture the blessings of God, because in a day like this, you receive the blessings of God.

“I also made them (congregants) to know what it is all about because if they don’t, they will not have the right approach to it.

“I told them it’s all about festival. The Lord said we should celebrate it as a festival. So you should come in a happy way, with high sense of passion, high sense of concentration.

“It should be with a joyful mood, we don’t come to mourn, we don’t come to fulfill all righteousness. It’s a celebration, it’s a feast, it’s a festival.

“I made them to understand that God and man are involved in this business. It’s not just something you come to do for another person. You do it as a way of renewing your concentration, your commitment and even your covenant with God,” he said.
