Gunmen Raze Down State CID Headquarters Umuagu In Abia (VIDEO)

Unidentified gunmen on Saturday burnt down the Abia State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department of the state police command located in Umuagu, Umuahia the state capital.

ABN TV could not categorically ascertain the level of damage incurred in the latest attack.

This is coming days after the DIG in charge of Operations in the Nigerian police and the Coordinating DIG South East, Joseph O. Egbunike left the state.

He was in the state on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, for a strategic operational interaction with the command’s Management and Tactical teams.

Recall that security personnel and formation had come under serious attack in the South East as well as INEC offices, many many torched.

Police had earlier reacted to sit-at-home order issued by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, urging the people to go about their normal businesses.

When ABN TV contacted him for a comment, the PPRO of Abia State Command, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna confirmed the incident, saying the details are not yet handy.

He replied, “State CID Umuahia came under attack about an hour ago. Details not handy at the moment, please.”
