Five individuals were killed in an attack on the Odiereke Ubie community in Rivers State’s Ahoada West Local Government Area after the community allegedly failed to provide N1 million for their sustenance.
A member of the community who confirmed the occurrence stated that the crooks arrived on motorcycles equipped with AK-47 weapons.
The victims were killed on their way back from their farms, according to an unidentified source.
According to our source, the attack occurred at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
He stated that the bodies were brought to the cemetery by the families of the deceased.
Meanwhile, inhabitants of the Odiereke Ubie neighborhood have fled and are appealing to security forces for assistance.
The Rivers State Police Command has not yet issued an official comment regarding the event.
