Gunmen suspected to be assassins have murdered one Dr. David Adefikayo, the Medical Director of Dafikayo Clinic, in his residence in Kanbi, Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The assailants reportedly broke into the deceased’s residence around 8:30 pm on Thursday and brutally murdered the medical officer in the presence of his wife and children.
It was gathered that the doctor’s pleas to the gunmen to collect money fell on deaf ears.
They also reportedly abducted one of the daughters of the slain doctor, Christiana Adejoke Alabi, 23.
The tragic incident, it was gathered, has caused shock and grief in the community as the late doctor was said to be a respected figure who contributed significantly to the community healthcare.
When contacted, the spokesperson of the state police command, Ejire Adeyemi-Adetoun, confirmed the incident.
She said, “Yes, they killed the doctor and abducted his 23-year-old daughters during the incident.
“The DPO and other officers have stormed the bush in search of the gunmen and possible rescue of the daughter.”
