Gunmen Invade Meeting Of Elders In Imo Community, Kill 8, Set 3 Ablaze

Gunmen during the weekend invaded a meeting of some elders in Okwe community in Onuimo Local Government Area of Imo State, shot eight to death and set ablaze three of them after the killing.

It could not be ascertained the reasons behind their actions but a viral video displaying their lifeless body indicated that the elders were having a get-together when the hoodlums struck.

The community has been thrown into total mourning following the incident.

The State police spokesman, Henry Okoye confirmed the incident and said the command is already investigating the matter and promised to bring the culprits to face the law.

“This is very unfortunate. The Command is saddened by this tragic incident. Investigation is ongoing to unravel the miscreants responsible for this dastardly act and make them face the full wrath of the law,” he stated.
