The Managing Director Nigeria Film Corporation, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe has said those who succeeded former governor Orji Uzor Kalu in Abia killed his policies in agriculture in the state.
He stated this during the CBN anchor borrowers programme in Abia on Tuesday.
He said former Premier of South East, Michael Okpara made significant efforts in revitalising agriculture, adding that Orji Kalu, now Senator representing Abia North tolled his line during his tenure as governor of the state.
“That we are lacking in agriculture today does not make people here happy. When we had His Excellency Orji Uzor Kalu as governor, he was able to improve in the state of agriculture but ever since then it has not been the same.
“Orji was the man who made it possible for even workers to go home with poultry seeds and palm seedlings to plant around them in their neighborhood.
“He tried to follow the Michael Okpara standard but after Orji was no more the Governor, we have not been doing well” he said.
He expressed the commitment of the Federal Government to carry Abia along in its agricultural policies.
