Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu has visited the scene of a 21-storey building collapse in Ikoyi.
The Governor visited the area earlier today, a few hours after he ordered the indefinite suspension of General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Mr. Gbolahan Oki.
Around 1 a.m on Wednesday, the governor was on ground where he praised and encouraged all federal and state agencies involved in rescue operations.
ABN TV recalls that Sanwoolu setup an internal panel of enquiry to investigate the entire circumstances around the development and approvals granted for the building.
He ordered a full inquiry into role of government officials in charge of ensuring adherence to standards with respect to the collapsed property. So far 19 have died while 9 were pulled out of the rubble alive.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Usman Baba, visited the scene of the building collapse on Tuesday.
Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar-Farouq, was also at the site on Tuesday.
