Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti has been urged to harness the potentials abound in the tourism sector as a way of increasing the revenue generation capacity of the state and project the rich cultural heritage of Abians.
At an event on Wednesday to mark the 2023 World Tourism Day with the theme, “Tourism And The Green Investment” in Umuahia, the CEO Oladeyco Exquisite Concept and Logistics, Mrs Onyekachi Atuloma Loveday said the state has tourist sites that can boost its IGR capacity.
Also known as Mama Tourism, Mrs. Atuloma further emphasized the need to keep the rich culture of the people at the front burner and prevent it from going into extinction.
The event featured various games such as LUDO, WHAT, EGG RACE, CHESS, Music, and Dance, with the winners going home with gift items.
Gifts such as pressing Iron, Clippers, and Boiling rings were won.
The children were not left out as they participated in the Dance competition, Bailey, and cultural dance.
They also received gift items such as School bags, Books, and shoes.
Guests were entertained with Palm wine and ugba to represent rich cultural heritage of the Igbo land.
