The Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has officially commissioned Emelogu road, Shallom road and Cemetry road phase 1, all in Aba which were newly reconstructed by his administration, eliciting excitement in the minds of residents.
Speaking while commissioning the roads in Aba, Governor Otti reassured the people of his comment towards fulfilling his campaign promises.
Otti explained that what Aba needs is to open it up with good infrastructure and enabling environment that would support the social and economic lives of the people, which his administration is committed to achieve.
Governor Otti stated that the Cemetery Market road has not been used for over 20 years.
The President Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA), Jerry Kalu, a resident of Emelogu road, Uche Okafor among others saluted Governor Otti for fixing the roads and assured him of sustained support for his administration.
He said “Roads are great economic enablers …. the world needs to know that Aba is back as a great hub of commerce. We will build the best roads, hotels, hospitals, markets, and turn Aba into the best ecosystem.
“Aba will never be the same again” governor Otti pledged.
He charged residents to help his anew and clean Aba by disposing refuse properly.
Governor Otti also warned those extorting traders and transporters to desist from such warning that he will deal decisively with anyone caught in such act.
Currently, the Abia State Government is installing street lights on major streets and roads in Umuahia, the state capital and Aba, a move, according to the government, that is aimed at reducing crime in the state.
