Gov. Otti Receives Judicial Panel Report, Reaffirms No Witch-Hunt

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has restated that the Judicial Panel of Inquiry on the Recovery of Government Properties, Funds, and Related Matters was not set up to witch-hunt anyone but to uncover the truth and address the concerns of citizens.

Governor Otti made this clarification while receiving the panel’s final report on Tuesday at the Government House, Umuahia, from the chairperson, Hon. Justice Florence Duroha-Igwe (Rtd).

“Setting up this judicial panel of inquiry had nothing to do with vendetta, nor did it have anything to do with scapegoatism. We just needed to know what happened. In a democracy, people have the right to be heard, and their concerns must be investigated,” Otti stated.

He explained that the panel was necessary due to the lack of a proper handover at the change of government, which made it difficult for the new administration to get accurate information.
