Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has offered automatic employment to nine ex-corps members of Abia origin who recently received the prestigious Presidential NYSC Honour Awards for their outstanding service to the nation.

Governor Otti made the announcement on Tuesday while receiving the honourees at Government House, Umuahia, in the company of the NYSC State Coordinator, Barr. Gladys Adama.

He directed the State Head of Service to issue them appointment letters immediately, adding that the employment embargo was temporarily lifted to accommodate the beneficiaries.

Having lifted that embargo and employed all of you, I also close the embargo. No interviews. You have already passed the interviews. Complete your documentation and resume work on Monday,” the Governor stated.

The Governor praised the honourees for making Abia proud and urged them to remain excellent ambassadors of the state. He also commended the NYSC Coordinator for her efforts in mentoring corps members.

Earlier, Barr. Adama described the nine awardees as “champions” who excelled in their various primary assignments across the country and were decorated by the President on July 29.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Nwogu Chinonso from Obingwa LGA expressed gratitude to Governor Otti, pledging their commitment to serve Abia diligently.

Those who received the employment offer include:
Nwogu Chinonso, Anyanwu Promise, Ezieme Francis Uba, Emmanuel Ogbenyealu Ezinne, Abia Chinwendu Grace, Nwafike Esther Chiemela, Dr. Ugwa Obinna Mark, Eke Lawrence Miracle, and James Raphael Chukwuebuka.

The event was attended by senior government officials and other dignitaries.
