Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the appointment of Ali-Akilu Mohammed Bungudu as the Accountant General of the State, while Alhaji Idris Shehu was named the Deputy Accountant General.
The appointments were contained in an official announcement on Tuesday, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Nakwada.
The statement from the spokesperson to the Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, disclosed that Ali-Akilu is a seasoned banker with many years of experience.
“The appointment of Ali-Akilu is in line with Governor Dauda Lawal’s commitment to source for the best hands in the rescue mission.
“Bungudu is an accomplished banker with over 20 years of working experience in operations, marketing (Public Sector, Govt Revenue Collection, Retail Banking, and international banking.
“Until his appointment, Ali-Akilu was leading the Nigerian Representative office of FBN Bank UK LTD and covering the Northern business office with oversight for Private Banking, Corporate Banking, and Institutional Banking,” he said.
