The Gombe State Coordinator, National Youths Service Corps, Ada Imoni, has tasked Assistant Directors, Heads of Committees, and collaborating agencies to work in synergy as they prepare for the 2022 Batch ‘B’Stream II Orientation Course scheduled for Wednesday.
Report shows that the state awaits 1,600 graduates across various schools to undertake the compulsory three-week orientation course in Gombe.
Imoni made this disclosure on Tuesday while addressing authorities preparing for the exercise, adding, “Each camp had its peculiarities, and as such, all hands must be on deck to ensure a hitch-free and successful exercise.”
Speaking on Camp market operators, the State Coordinator said, “All must be vigilant to ensure that corps members don’t over-socialize with them. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency should watch out against infiltration of drugs into the Camp.”
“We are dealing with young graduates from the nooks and crannies of Nigeria. It behooves us to groom them and serve as guardians and parents to them,” Imoni added.
Also speaking, Camp Director, Ado Taura lauded the State Coordinator for appointing him to oversee the affairs of the forthcoming orientation course and promised to give his best.
Taura called on all to support him as he promised to be open to constructive criticisms.
On his part, the Camp Commandant, who spoke on behalf of other heads of agencies, Major Ornan, appealed to all not to allow over-familiarity to set in, adding that it would avoid complacency.
“Be proactive and decisive in all your assignments,” Ornan said.
