Oyo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Michael Adaralewa, has instructed area commanders and divisional officers of the NSCDC in the state to go after vandals targeting critical infrastructure.
Adaralewa gave the directive during a briefing held at Iyaganku, Ibadan, where he called for a statewide crackdown on vandals targeting electrical transformers and other power distribution facilities.
The monthly commandant’s briefing was attended by various NSCDC officials, including heads of departments, units, area commanders, sectional heads, unit commanders, and divisional officers.

He expressed his concern about the increasing incidents of vandalism targeting power transformers and electricity distribution facilities in some areas of the state.
Adaralewa also ordered an increased security presence at places of worship on Fridays, Sundays, and throughout the upcoming holiday season to counter the anticipated rise in criminal activities.
Adaralewa stated, “I am giving a clear order to all Area Commanders and Divisional Officers to pursue vandals of transformers and other power distribution facilities in Oyo State.”
