Abia State governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has ordered the Executive Chairman of Osisioma Ngwa LGA, Hon. Christian Kamalu, to clear the area around the Osisioma Flyover of all forms of touting.
The Governor while urging that this should be done as a matter of urgency further ordered that people who harass motorists under the guise of collecting any manner of levies must be gotten rid of.
The Governor gave this instruction today during a Radio Program on BCA Radio Umuahia, a statement signed by Onyebuchi Ememanka, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor said.
According to the statement, Governor Ikpeazu stated that henceforth, it has become illegal for any revenue agent under any guise whatsoever to waylay or harass motorists or other road users along major roads in the State.
He said the State Police Commissioner has been mandated to arrest and prosecute anyone who makes any attempt to set up roadblocks for the purpose of revenue collection along major roads in the State.
He further urged all those concerned to take note.
