Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, is currently delivering his final speech as the Speaker of the House.
Mr. Gbajabiamila is delivering the speech at the ongoing valedictory session of the 9th House.
Former speakers, Ghali Na’Abbas and Patricia Etteh are in attendance at the chamber for the valedictory session.

Mr. Gbajabiamila, in his speech, commended the lawmakers for their efforts in the last four years, which include the passage of important legislation like PIA, the Electoral Act, and others.
He expressed regret with the inability of the 9th House to pass several women-related bills that the House rejected in 2022.
Mr. Gbajabiamila urged the next administration to take on the mantle of passing gender bills in the House.
It would be recalled that Gbajabiamila was appointed as the Chief Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
The next Assembly will be inaugurated on Tuesday.
