Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Doguwa

The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Doguwa, on Sunday, described the Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, as responsible for an enduring peace in the state, in compliance with his oath of office as its Chief Security Officer.

“To date, amidst the turbulence in some states of the federation, Kano remains among the most peaceful states nationwide, as the Governor is always proactive to security issues, hence the peace and harmony the state is enjoying to this moment.”

Doguwa made the submission in Kano, while Kano Citizens Forum were honouring distinguished citizens of Kano State extraction, alongside other leaders, who had immensely contributed to the socio-economic development of the entire country, at the Amani Events Centre, which attracted dignitaries from far and near.

According to him, the synergy of the state Governor with different security agencies domiciled in the state is attributable to the peace the state has been and is still enjoying, adding that the Governor regularly holds security meetings with Security Chiefs towards ensuring a sustainable peace in the state.

“Security of lives and property in Kano State, irrespective of tribe or religion, among others, is of topmost priority to Governor Ganduje, that is why Ganduje ensures that security operatives are often deployed to churches every Sunday to provide security to Christians, while worshipping.”

Among those honoured include the outgoing State Commissioner of Police, Suma’ila Dikko, the outgoing  Three Brigade Commander, Brigadier-General Nicodemus, KAROTA CEO/Consumer Protection Council boss, Bappa Agundi, for his outstanding contribution in instilling discipline in chaotic Kano roads, as well as in checkmating substandard and fake goods in Kano.

Others are: Minister of State for Housing and Works, Umar El-Yakub; outgoing Kano Nigerian Immigration Service Comptroller, Mu’azu Abdulrazaq.

Danagundi, on the occasion, challenged those opposing Ganduje to secure loan to procure CCTV cameras as myopic, stressing that it was to ensure an insecurity-free Kano State.
