FUTO Student Emmanuel Nduka Gets Tony Elumelu’s Mentorship Offer Via LinkedIn Post

Chairman of the United Bank for Africa, Tony Elumelu, has offered to make an engineering student, Emmanuel Nduka, a part of his upcoming mentorship session.

Emmanuel achieved sudden fame on the business and employment-oriented online service, LinkedIn, when he wrote a brief bio, stating his life’s journey so far.

Taking to his LinkedIn wall three months ago, Emmanuel had written:

Hi, I am Emmanuel Nduka, I am 20 years old and an introvert but I’m very bold when it comes to speaking up on things that matter, especially when opportunities are concerned.

I am a third-year Chemical Engineering student of the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Nigeria.

I am the first son and the first child of my parents, with five siblings. I actively Joined LinkedIn eight months ago and I have landed some gigs and roles so far.

From a publishing company requesting to publish my articles and write-up so far in Chemical Engineering, to becoming one of the LinkedIn page managers of my department, the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, FUTO.

All thanks to God, for all that have happened so far, I can’t thank you enough.

I look forward to becoming renowned in my field of study as a process engineer and I am open to opportunities that resonate with what I do, like scholarships, mentorships, and sponsorships

The post was uneventful, three months on.

On Tuesday, September 28, 2021, the undergraduate was more forthcoming by mentioning the chief executive in another LinkedIn post.

Elumelu took notice of Emmanuel, who describes himself as an inspirational leader when he tagged the CEO to another post that reads:

I posted this and different people were asking, Where is your bag? Where is your red sock?
