Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has paid glowing tribute to late gospel preacher, Rev. (Dr) Uma Ukpai, describing his contributions to global evangelism and the Christian faith as unparalleled.
Fubara spoke during a Service of Songs held in honour of the deceased at the Royal House of Grace International Church in Port Harcourt, where he noted that the late cleric lived a life fully devoted to the service of God and humanity.
Represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House, Port Harcourt, Barr. Sunny Ewule, the governor said the Rivers State Government deeply appreciates the sacrifices and impact of the late preacher, whose ministry brought global recognition to the gospel.
“We are here to celebrate the life of a servant of God who sacrificed so much for humanity. His crusades were widely known, and he touched lives across the world,” the governor said.
He added that the state government stands in solidarity with the family of the late cleric and the Christian community, celebrating a life dedicated to spiritual service and transformation.
In a homily, Pastor Cletus Desmond of the Redemption Ministries extolled the virtues of the late Ukpai, describing him as a faithful servant who impacted his generation positively. He urged Christians to emulate his life of dedication and service.
Earlier, the host and founder of the Royal House of Grace International Church, Apostle Zilly Aggrey, described the late cleric as a great oracle of God, noting that the gathering was a moment of reflection, thanksgiving, and celebration of a life committed to God’s work.
The event featured praise and worship sessions, goodwill messages, and prayers for the bereaved family and the wider Christian community.
