FRSC Takes Sensitization On Safe Driving To Ogun Drivers

Sagamu Unit Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) has held a one-day workshop to sensitise drivers on road safety measures.

This year’s workshop with the theme, “Speed thrills but kills,” was held at Awolowo Motor park in Sagamu, Ogun State.

Chief Route Commander, Sule Okloho (Unit Commander Rs2.25) said it was in the FRSC tradition to sensitise the public, especially during the ‘ember months’ on road dangers.

He advised drivers to maintain speed limits to avoid accidents, obtain a valid driver’s licence and avoid route violations.

FRSC Deputy Corps Commander, Ayodeji Olusoga Oseni, said road accidents had been on steady increase because most drivers’ attention are often diverted from the road.

He identified talking or texting on mobile phones as a cause of road accidents.

Adegbayi further educated the drivers on overloading, traffic signs, safety, emergencies, road lanes, wrongful overtaking, driving on the walkway, smoking while driving and accidents.

NYSC corp members at the event thrilled the participants with stage play titled “speed thrills but kills” to also pass the message to the participants.
