The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Shehu Mohammed, has cautioned motorists against drunk driving, excessive speed and reckless driving during the Valentine’s Day celebrations.
In a press statement on Friday, Mohammed said the Corps has deployed operational and educational tools nationwide to ensure the safety of road users, directing Commanding Officers to intensify patrols for enhanced visibility, traffic control and enforcement of traffic laws.
He added that FRSC operatives have been instructed to make full use of breathalysers and radar guns to identify and stop suspected drunk drivers.
The Corps Marshal also urged road users to cooperate with FRSC personnel and report emergencies through the 122 toll-free line, while advising parents and guardians to caution youths, who he said are more vulnerable during the season.
