Friends, Colleagues Weep As Popular Presenter Ogechi Iwu Dies

Renowned radio presenter Ogechi Helmut Iwu is dead.

Until his death, he was a key presenter (the golden voice) with the Ozisa Radio 96.1 FM English programme. Oge Iwu anchored ‘We the People” English newspaper review programme with Ozisa Radio FM Owerri.

The deceased has been down with undisclosed ailment at Federal Medical Centre, Owerri.

Meanwhile, condolence messages from friends and associates have flooded Oge Iwu’s wall on social media.

In a post Dr. Nma Olebara tagged the deceased; it reads:

“Memories of a loved one are hard to forget. Atimes, the burden becomes too heavy to carry, but knowing that death has no timetable, no formula and can strike at any moment, no point crying out our eyes. Ogechi Helmut Iwu, your death yesterday hit me like a thunder bolt but who are we to question God. He gives and takes at His own time. Oge, gaa ije gi nke oma. May God grant you eternal rest and give us the fortitude to bear this painful loss.“

Another friend Chinyere Joy Opia also made a post on the deceased wall:

“Life is just like a mist. Here today and gone tomorrow.

“Sent this messages to a friend Ogechi Helmut Iwu 4 days ago. Was wondering why unlike him, he didn’t reply only to hear he just passed away.

“No one’s life is certain in this wicked world.

“Make the best of the time you have. ???.

“He was a jolly good fellow. Never stressed over anything (even challenges and disappointments).

“Sleep well The Real McCoy. ???

Another post from a former presenter at Flo Fm Umuahia, Dianime Uko reads:

Ogechi Iwu worked as a media consultant with 99.9KISSFM ABUJA/CHOFAN COMMUNICATIONS, a radio presenter with the Imo Broadcasting Corporation – IBC (Orient FM), Hot FM Abuja and Owerri, Flo FM Umuahia and Raypower FM. He will be missed by several of his fans. May his soul rest in peace.
