The Abia media community is in mourning after the unexpected passing of veteran journalist, Mazi Onukwube TG Ofoelue (Thankgod), who was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Jungle Journalist Media Limited. 
An obituary released on behalf of the Ofoelue Family from Ezi Nde Ukpabi, Ugbo Village, Arochukwu, revealed that the esteemed journalist died on the evening of Monday, February 23, 2026, following a brief illness. He was just 48 years old.
The announcement, which was signed by his elder brother, Mazi Obozuluike Ofoelue (Ikemba Aro), painted a picture of a dedicated professional who approached journalism with integrity and a steadfast commitment to the truth.
At the time of his passing, Mazi Onukwube was an active member of both the Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN) and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), where he made significant contributions to the growth of the profession.
His family is heartbroken over his loss, remembering him as a resourceful and loving brother whose bravery, vision, and dedication left a lasting impact on his colleagues and friends.
His death has left a considerable gap, not only in his family but also in the broader media community he served with such passion.
The family has indicated that burial arrangements will be shared at a later date.
Mazi Onukwube TG Ofoelue will be remembered as a fearless journalist and a dedicated media entrepreneur, with a legacy of truth and professionalism that will continue to inspire.
