Former Ugbori Community Chairman Murdered In Delta

In a sad report, some unknown gunmen have assassinated a former community leader in Delta State.

The man was identified as Amb Prince Godwin Metie and he was the immediate past chairman of Ugbori community in Warri South council area of Delta.

He was reportedly killed by these unscrupulous people in the Merogun area, near Iyara Junction in Warri.

His death comes at a point when there is growing insecurity concern in Nigeria. Days ago, we made a report about the kidnapped and subsequent assassination of Chairman of Ardo-Kola LGA of Taraba State, Salihu Dovo.

Per what we gathered, he died after his residence was attacked by suspected gunmen in Sabon Gari, Jalingo at about 1 a.m and he was kindapped afterward.

The source who confirmed the incident said;

“They called an official of the Council to inform him of the killing, telling them to go and search for his corpse in the bush.

“Members of the community went into the bush and started looking for his body and it was found not long ago. The body is being taken to town now.”
