Former South African Olympic Athlete, Oscar Pistorius Denied Parole

Oscar Pistorius, a former South African Olympic athlete, has been denied parole a decade after fatally shooting his girlfriend.

Pistorius, a double-amputee known as “Blade Runner” for his Olympic and Paralympic performances, shot Steenkamp multiple times through his bathroom door at home.

Steenkamp, a model and law school graduate, was 29 years old.

Pistorius, now 36, claimed he shot her by accident with his legal firearm, mistaking her for a threatening intruder.
