The Nigeria’s immediate past Minister of Women Affairs, has lost her only son, Richard Adamu Tallen after complications from undisclosed ailment, the family announced on Sunday.
Dame Pauline Tallen, a former Deputy Governor in the North Central state of Plateau served in former President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet from 2019-2023.
Richard, 42 passed away in a private medical facility in the capital, Abuja after being hospitalised, the family said in a statement.
Details of the circumstances surrounding the death of son of the former minister are still sketchy but it was learnt that he was placed on oxygen in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the private hospital on Friday night.
“On a very sad note, we regret to announce the sudden passing of our member, Mr Richard Adamu Tallen.
“Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord, may perpetual light shine upon him.
“May the soul of Richard and all departed VOBA members RIP. Amen,” his alma mater, the Vom Old Boys’ Association (VOBA) posted on Facebook on Sunday afternoon.
A graduate of Computer Science from a US university, Richard was survived by a wife and three children.
