Former Aviation Minister Osita Chidoka Dumps PDP

Former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, has officially announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ABN TV reports.

The disclosure was made during an interview on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television.

Chidoka revealed that he had submitted his resignation letter to his PDP ward in Anambra State earlier in the day. According to him, the decision to part ways with the party is rooted in his desire to dedicate more time to his non-profit organization, the Athena Centre, which focuses on governance and policy reforms.

The former minister expressed his intention to work with like-minded Nigerians to reform the nation’s political system and promote evidence-based governance. This marks a significant shift in his career trajectory, as he steps away from active politics to concentrate on advocacy and societal transformation.

Chidoka served as the Minister of Aviation under the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, where he played a key role in developing Nigeria’s aviation sector.

His resignation from the PDP signals a temporary pause in his political career, with an emphasis on fostering change through civil engagement and policy initiatives.
