First Civilian Governor Of Lagos State, Lateef Jakande Is Dead

In a sad report, the first civilian governor of Lagos State, Lateef Jakande is dead.

The renowned statesman died at 91 in the early hours of today, February 11.

Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande was born on 23 July 1929. He was a journalist who later became the governor of Lagos State in Nigeria from 1979 to 1983 after he ran for election as executive governor of Lagos State in 1979 on the Unity Party of Nigeria platform

Meanwhile, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has also announced the death of the former governor of the state on his official Twitter account.
