Final Year Student Of MOUAU, Kama Kalu Wins Icon Reality Show 2022

Mr. Kama Chukwuemeka Kalu, a 24-year-old 500-level student at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, MOUAU has been announced the winner of Icon Reality Show 2022 organised by Vision Africa Radio.

Kalu of the department of Veterinary Medicine hails from Okonaku, Ohafia L.G.A, of Abia State.

Other winners in the 9th edition of the reality show include, Miss Okafor Stephanie who emerged first runner-up, and Miss Adibe Merit who won third place.

Speaking at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia, during the event which coincided with the 25th-anniversary celebration of Vision Africa, the President of Vision Africa International, Bishop Sunday Onuoha said over the years, Vision Africa has been building people for greatness and for greater tomorrow.

Bishop Onuoha appreciated God for using Vision Africa to touch lives positively in the past 25 years, maintaining that, “We are here to do what God has called us to do”.

While presenting the 2022 Exceptional Personality awards to Mr. Edwin O Nwabueze (who has been taking care of his bedridden wife for the past forty years); Sergeant Joy Nwogu (a traffic officer at Bende road by St. Finbars, Umuahia); Rev sister Marie Anita Ogbonna (The Matron of Ahiaeke compassionate home); Coordinator of Uzuakoli motherless babies home, Mary Corput Mangset; Miss Olumachi Nwachukwu ( a consistent guest of children’s program at Vision Africa Radio) and Mr. Ikechukwu Chimbuo (a tricycle operator who returned a huge sum of money to the owner), Bishop Onuoha envisioned a society where people who genuinely and selflessly serve humanity would be appreciated.

The President of Vision Africa International who said the organization decided to honour them for touching lives, maintained that character is the ultimate in life and urged people to build good character rather than love for wealth.

Speaking respectively, the co-chair of the event, Miss Olumachi Nwafor and Apostle Gikson Ikechukwu Iheme who recalled the circumstances that led to the Organization, congratulated Vision Africa for using their programmes and activities to restore hopes and lives.

Shortly before announcing the sings competition result, the head of the panel, Rev. Sleek Ogwo said the judges considered the vocal strength; vocal skills; breath control; boldness; stage management; expression; connection with the audience among other skills of the contestants.

Speaking, the star prize winner, Mr. Kama Chukwuemeka Kalu who paid tribute to his late father, appreciated Vision Africa for the opportunity given to contestants to compete in a cordial manner, in anticipation of a better future for Nigeria’s youths.
