FG Begins Employment For 3MTT Applicants

Federal Government of Nigeria has started fulfilling employment promise to 3MTT candidates under the ministry of Communication, innovation, and Digital Economy.

3MTT fellows from Cohort 1 which include 30,000 applicants, has completed their training and started securing job placement in various companies.

According to a post by a 3MTT graduate on X (formerly Twitter), she indicated, she received a offered letter mail from Shantali Express, a pioneering mobility and logistics startup founded in 2019 under A B I Consult.

    • “Alhamdulillah, I am grateful to announce that I have successfully secured a 3mmt job placement. I am excited for this opportunity to learn and contribute to the organization. I look forward to applying my skills and gaining valuable experience during this time.💃💃💃💃”
    • “I recently received an email from Shantali Express, a pioneering mobility and logistics startup founded in 2019 under A B I Consult. They offered me a job placement opportunity through the 3mmt programme which I am very excited about.”
    • “Shantali Express is known for its focus on innovation and community empowerment, and they have rapidly expanded across 19 states in Nigeria, revolutionizing transportation with seamless solutions.”

There are more 3MTT graduates that indicated of job placement into various companies.

About 3MTT Job Placement

The Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, announced this on Monday, February 19, 2024, while giving updates on the program.

According to him over 1,400 organisations have indicated interest in taking on fellows from our first cohort and will be announcing the first set of these job placements in the next few weeks.

The Minister said this is a critical part of the objective of the 3MTT Programme that ensures the programmes doesn’t only deliver technically trained talent, but also connect them to decent jobs.

The Minister statement;

  • “As we wrap up the first phase of the @3MTTNigeria programme, I am pleased to provide an update on our progress so far. First, we can confirm that fellows selected for the 2nd phase of the 3MTT programme will be announced on Thursday February 29th, 2024 with a projected training start date in March.”
  • “Over the last few months, our first cohort has gone through training programmes across 12 skill areas and we have received a lot of positive feedback from our fellows. The initial prototype phase has also given us a chance to take learnings as we execute and this feedback will help us scale and improve on the overall experience for our fellows and 121 training providers across Nigeria. “
  • “As we move into the next phase of an additional 270,000 fellows to be trained over the next 18 months, we are encouraged by the growing support from partners and stakeholders in our journey to deliver 3 million technical talents by 2027.”
  • “Another key update is that as our first cohort graduate from the programme, we will be finalising job placements for them. We currently have over 1,400 organisations who have indicated interest in taking on fellows from our first cohort and will be announcing the first set of these job placement in the next few weeks. This is a critical part of the objective of the #3MTT Programme that ensures we not only deliver technically trained talent, but also connect them to decent jobs.”

About 3MTT Program

The 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme is launched by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy with the objective of providing technical training to 3 million individuals in Nigeria.

The programme seeks to create a pool of technical experts in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of generating 2 million digital jobs by 2025.

In line with the Ministry’s 1%-10%-100% implementation approach, this first phase will aim to train and place 30,000 technical talents, representing 1% of our overall target.

The second phase will take 270,000 technical talents, and lastly, the third phase will take 2,700,000 million technical talents.

    • Data Science
    • Animation
