Federal Government Wickedly Maltreating Nnamdi Kanu, Says Methodist Prelate (VIDEO)

The Prelate of Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Kalu Uche accused the federal government of internationally and wickedly maltreating the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Nnamdi Kanu who is currently in detention since 2021 at the facility of the DSS is standing trial for offences bordering on treasonable felony and terrorism.

ABN TV reports that a three-man panel of Appeal Court Justices in Abuja had earlier in the month discharged and acquitted him of all charges against him with a direction to the federal government to release him.

He is however to be released barely two weeks after the court judgment.

He is accused of running an illegal organization, IPOB which has since been proscribed as a terror group by the federal government. Nnamdi Kanu, leading a separatist agitation has since denied being a terrorist.

Speaking on Thursday in Umuahia Abia State at the burial ceremony of Sir Micah Onyebuchi, the father of the Chief Medical Director FMC Umuahia, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, the cleric likened Nnamdi Kanu to the biblical Lazarus and the Federal Government the rich man.

He said the Abia-born activist is being “maliciously and wickedly” being maltreated.

Dr. Kalu Uche stressed that one day every man will die and will only reap the fruit of their labour.

He therefore called for the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu to douse the tension currently mounting in the South East region of the country so that the process of reconciliation could commence.
