Policemen serving in Abia State are currently threading with utmost carefulness as the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Kenechukwu Onwuemelie has vowed a decisive action against those extorting money from Abians.
The police boss handed the warning during a meeting with the Management Team, Area Commanders, DPOs, and Tactical Team Commanders on Thursday.
The CP emphasized that professionalism among officers and men of the command must not be compromised.
He frowned at extortion and vowed to take drastic actions against erring officers.
CP Onwuemelie urged officers of the command to be steadfast and proactive in ensuring that all Abians are safe at all times. He stated that it is better to prevent crime than to detect it.
The meeting was a call to order for all officers to ensure they uphold professionalism in their duties and avoid any form of misconduct or illegal activities.
