Fans Line Up For Opening Of Cristiano Ronaldo Exhibition In Hong Kong

Hundreds of football fans lined up for hours in Hong Kong on Monday to catch a glimpse of Cristiano Ronaldo’s trophies, jerseys, and memorabilia at a newly launched exhibition—the first of its kind outside the Portuguese superstar’s homeland.

The “CR7 LIFE Museum Hong Kong,” located inside a luxury shopping mall, opened its doors to enthusiastic visitors who posed for photos next to life-sized statues of Ronaldo, including one in mid-air celebration and another dressed in traditional Saudi attire.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is my idol… he’s special,” said 14-year-old Alvin Lai, who was first in a queue of more than 100 people.

“He’s the most hardworking person out there,” said university student Henry Singh.

“He’s 40 years old and still going very strong.”

The exhibition comes shortly after Ronaldo signed a new two-year contract with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, which he described as a “new chapter” in an Instagram post. Al Nassr is scheduled to play in a pre-season tournament in Hong Kong next month, further fueling local excitement.

According to Tomas Froes, a representative from Ronaldo’s family office, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner will be meeting fans at the museum “very soon.”

Spanning 12,000 square feet (1,110 square meters), the exhibition aims to inspire visitors with Ronaldo’s story and accomplishments.

It sends a “strong message for everyone to achieve their dreams,” Froes told AFP.

Organizers said the Hong Kong exhibition will remain open for a year before moving to mainland China.
