It was a shattered dream for the family of Flight Lieutenant Chinecherem Okoronkwo, one of the officers killed during bandits’ attack on Nigerian Defence Academy’s permanent facility in Kaduna State.
A family source said the late officer was expecting his first child after four years of marriage before the bandits snuffed life out of him. Okoronkwo was killed in the raid with another officer, while one was abducted.
According to a family source, the tragedy shattered Chinecherem’s lifetime dream with his wife of four years. National Director of Christ Ambassador Students Outreach (CASOR), a student outreach of the Assemblies of God Church, Dr. Amaefule Emeka-Charles, took to the fellowship’s Facebook page, to bemoan Okoronkwo’s fate.
Flt Lt. Okoronkwo served as the General Secretary of CASOR at the University of Calabar during his degree days. He subsequently went on to study Medical Laboratory Science at the University of Nigeria. Okoronkwo was Head of Department, Laboratory Services, Nigeria Defence Academy, Kaduna, till his death.
