Several families were on Wednesday displaced following a fire incident at Umuajiji Isieke Ibeku off Health Centre Road by Egwu Ibeku hall in Umuahia.
Though the cause of the fire is unknown, all tenants at the 8 bedroom apartment were displaced even as property worth several thousands of Naira were destroyed.
The fire started at about 12:30pm and was put under control by the assistance of neighbours at about 2pm.
Men of Abia State Fire Service had arrived the venue of the incident at about 3pm an hour after it was put out.
No life was however lost at the incident.
