Abia state Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu on Friday received a presidential delegation at his Umuobiakwa hometown in Obingwa LGA who are in the state to grace the event marking the 93rd birthday celebration of His Imperial Majesty, Eze Dr. Isaac Ajuonu Ikonne, the Enyi 1 of Aba.
The delegation was led by the Minister for Labour and Employment, Senator Dr Chris Ngige who represented President Muhammadu Buhari.
The courtesy visit is to intimate the governor of their presence in the state before heading to the venue of the event.
Welcoming them to Abia, Governor Ikpeazu expressed gratitude to the delegation for their visit and wished them safe stay in the State.
He also wished the Royal Father a happy 93rd birthday.
Among those in the presidential delegation include, Deputy Governor of Imo State, Professor Placid Njoku, Senator representing Imo North, Senator Frank Ibezim, Honorable Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, Honorable Minister of State for Education, Chief Emeka Nwajiuba, Chairman of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Chief Elias Mbam, Chief Sam Nkire, and others.
Eze Isaac Ikonne is the father of Prince Paul Ikonne, the Executive Secretary of the National Agricultural Lands Development Agency (NALDA).
The Governor then handed the delegation over to the Secretary to the Government of Abia State, Barrister Chris Ezem who accompanied them to the event.
