It was three events rolled into one as constitutional lawyer, Dr. Monday Ubani marked his 60th birthday, celebrated the official investiture as his status as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) as well as presented his book titled, “The Story of Legal And Human Rights Activism”.
It was a colourful event, owing to the personality of the celebrant, Dr. Ubani, known for his tireless efforts in promoting public interest and development law.
He has had a distinguished career spanning over three decades.
He is the Principal Partner of Ubani & Co., a law firm he established in 1991 and has been a vocal advocate for good governance and human rights.
His elevation to the Inner Bar as a SAN is a testament to his exceptional expertise and contributions to the legal profession. The SAN rank is awarded to outstanding lawyers who have demonstrated excellence in advocacy and academics.
As Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest and Development Law (NBA-SPIDEL), Dr. Ubani has been at the forefront of promoting public interest litigation and advocacy.
His leadership has helped shape the conversation on critical issues affecting Nigeria, including corruption, justice reform, and human rights.
Dr. Ubani has received several awards for his contributions to the legal profession and humanity, including the 6th Ikeja City Award of Excellence and the Akwa Ibom Indigenes Development Initiative (AKIDI) Award of Excellence.
