A former member of the House of Representatives for Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency of Abia State, Hon. Sam Onuigbo has congratulated Nigerians at Christmas, calling for gratitude to God for His numerous blessings.
“As we celebrate this season with our loved ones, let us make out time to be thankful for the small and big blessings from God while remembering that Christmas is the commemoration of God’s greatest gift to mankind— the birth of Jesus Christ and the promise of redemption”, he said in a felicitation message on Monday.
Onuigbo, a Member (South East) of the Governing Board and Chairman of the Committee on Security, Climate Change & Special Interventions of the North East Development Commission says Christmas which marks the end of year festivities signals a culmination of the many efforts made each year.
He said, “In a way, this period allows us to take our feet off the gas, exhale a little, take stock of how far we have come, and to reunite and celebrate with family from far and wide. That is the joy of Christmas and our transition to a new year.”
He expressed hope that 2024 offers us all a new beginning: a new opportunity to lay out our dreams and push for their realisation.
“On behalf of myself, my family, and my supporters, I wish everyone a very merry Christmas celebration and a prosperous 2024.”
