Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah has expressed sadness over the passage of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja whom he described as a personal friend.
Ogah, the President of Masters Energy Group in a statement he personally endorsed commiserated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Nigerian military, the Nigerian Army, and the bereaved family over the huge loss.
The renowned businessman describes the late Lagbaja as a dedicated officer who brought unparalleled expertise to his role, serving with distinction in various capacities including as platoon commander in the 93 Battalion and the 72 Special Forces Battalion.

Ogah said late Lagbaja’s leadership in critical internal security operations, from Operation ZAKI in Benue State to Operation Lafiya Dole, Udoka, and Forest Sanity demonstrated his tactical acumen and relentless dedication to Nigeria’s peace and stability.
“Though death is a necessary end for every human but such death at the age of 56 is highly devastating to immediate family and close friends and this particular one is a great loss to the Nigerian Army and the nation in general.
“General Lagbaja’s distinguished military career, marked by his exceptional service and dedication to our nation’s security, serves as a tribute to his uncompromising commitment to Nigeria’s unity and progress”, he stated.
He also prayed for the peaceful repose of the late General Lagbaja.
