Frank Lampard, the interim manager of Chelsea, has stated that he would think about giving the club’s young players more playing time.

The former England midfielder singled out young players like Benoit Badiashile and Chinonso ‘Noni’ Madueke as deserving of spots in his squad.

When the Blues defeated Bournemouth 3-1 away from Stamford Bridge, it was the first victory under Frank Lampard since his return to the team as an interim manager.

Prior to Matias Vina’s equalizer for the Cherries, Conor Gallagher gave the visitors the lead.

Later, the West London team scored twice through Badiashile and Joao Felix to score their first three points under interim manager Lampard.

Asked if he would now consider giving more playing time to all the players 23 or younger who performed well during the game, the former England midfielder said, “To a degree, yes. My role now is to give those players minutes.”

“So if they’re training well, there are other players that will push those players as well. Noni’s performance on Tuesday gets him in the team today even though he was not so well a couple of days ago. I think we all saw Benoit today, and it’s pretty clear he has a big talent.”
