EPL: Pochettino Picks Midfielder Chelsea Should Sign

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is said to want to sign Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde for €80 million.

Pochettino, according to El Nacional, is eager to sign Valverde as he attempts to bolster his midfield this summer.

N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic appear to be departing Chelsea, leaving Pochettino short on personnel.

Chelsea would reportedly pay £70-80 million to get Real Madrid to sit down and negotiate a deal for Valverde.

The Uruguayan was in good form with Los Blancos during the 2022/23 season, scoring 12 goals and registering seven assists in 56 games across all competitions.

According to the story, Chelsea has already contacted Valverde’s team to express their interest.

They have informed the Uruguayan that he will be Pochettino’s undisputed starter.
