EPL: Lee Mason Quits As VAR Official After Error In Arsenal, Brentford Game

According to SportsMail, Video Assistant Referee Lee Mason is leaving the PGMOL.

This means he will no longer be a Premier League official.

Mason is said to have resigned by mutual consent a week after making a major error in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Brentford.

After failing to check if Christian Norgaard was offside, the VAR incorrectly allowed Ivan Toney’s goal to stand.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was enraged, as the error could cost them the Premier League title race against Manchester City.

The Gunners have dropped to second place after a 3-1 loss to Manchester City on Wednesday.
